Last weekend was exceptionally busy. On Saturday, I spent a girls’ day out with a very good friend of mine as she searched for a wedding dress. We wandered bridal shops and laughed over Prosecco, which was brilliant. Only problem was trying to choose one dress, when she looked fabulous in all of them!
After that, I zoomed up the motorway to Bamburgh, in time for an evening photo shoot with a fantastic local photographer called Katy Melling (check out her website here). Her work is more like fine art and she does all kinds of weddings and portraiture, so she kindly agreed to turn her artistic hand to making me look presentable for some professional images. I’m planning to get all business-like, you see, which means new website, fancy pictures…I only hope that her camera can fade out the ravages of sleep-deprivation and the bags under my eyes capture the beauty of the landscape along the Northumbrian coastline!
Sunday was spent celebrating my son’s 2nd birthday, over a Winnie-the-Pooh-themed tea party. He stuffed his face with cake, played in an enormous ball pit and generally enjoyed himself tremendously. How the time flies!
This week, Mr Ross and I are enjoying a staycation while Mini-Ross spends a few days with his grandparents. Well, as you can imagine, we hardly know what to do with ourselves (no obvious jokes here, please). The prospect of an unbroken night’s sleep was so exciting that we could not, in fact, sleep. Oh, the irony. Added to which, last night, the idea of being able to stay up late without having to be up at the crack of dawn this morning had us giggling like teenagers and making all kinds of ridiculous plans – such as doing more exercise, or being more productive with our lives. In short, we were clearly suffering from temporary insanity.
Today, it’s back to reality. I’m meeting a fellow writer for a coffee and a chinwag this morning, then hitting the laptop this afternoon.
Have a good one, folks!
